This is the year I promised to not become too serious about a lot of things, however, from now on all comedy which is at my own expense will be in my own voice. Self scrutiny is a way of life for a playwright. Most recent critiques of me other than, ".. could you say that again - in English this time." have been, "Hmmm, you live alone in the San Fernando Valley?" "You drive a Toyota?” "Why don’t you trim your own beard?" "Why don’t you grow your beard long?" And, metaphorically speaking, my friends still do allow me to pay for the drinks. With that said, at least I know I have a handful of really good friends. I've met some interesting, and astonishing people recently. There’s a woman with some many fascinating stories that would like to option her life. Another friend is an actor turned clergy. All of these characters fill my scripts with reality. I do hope my portrayals will be forgiven on opening night. Life’s good, and I'm look forward to more memorable moments that I can, one day, look back on and find the humor. Cheers to the people I know I can count on. I have far too much stuff in my life, all of which makes me feel wealthy, but I could use some speech coaching, a hot car, and a beach house would be nice touch also.
