In Spirit
by
Judy Davies
As you finger the rim of my glasses,
run your hand lovingly across my chair,
close the cover on the still open book of
memories that rests on our coffee table,
I am there beside you.
My spirit holds you firmly in its grasp.
You are not alone in this life or the next.
I see you now as I did then, a woman
full of love of life, with unshakable
strength, an overcomer of life's trials.
Let love, like a warm rain, wash over you
even as you lament my passing. Inhale the
clouds and breathe life deeply. Let its
heartbeat once again cause your Spirit to dance.
I shall dance with you holding the invisible
string that ties our hearts together.
