Immeasurable
by
Stacey Dye
The rhythm of life’s give
and take can’t be measured
like a metronome
evenly ticking off beats
to a piece of music.
Nor can it be measured
like a tug of war, the rope
of human kindness pulled
so taut that neither side can
benefit from the other.
Rather it should be measured
like two children sharing a swing,
eager to push the other to new
heights,not keeping count.
Tell us about yourself: About three years ago Stacey Dye began to seriously pursue the art of poetry.A favorite subject is the human condition. She thrives on words...Credits include Camroc Press Review, Touch, The Journal of Healing,Poor Mojo´s Almanac(k), Cafe Del Soul, Dew on the Kudzu, Sketchbook, Mused and others.
Motivation: Immeasurable came about by the changes I see in our world. The "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours mentality"... what are you going to do for me kind of thinking. I decided to come up with a way to convey how simple it is to give of yourself without expecting anything in return and just through human kindness, karma or both...everyone benefits. I chose to represent this through the innocence of children.
