A Tribute To Her Beauty
(for Benazir Bhutto)
No one has said
she was beautiful.
Determined, intelligent, brave,
steadfast, capable, foolhardy,
human, flawed…
Perhaps it is not
politic
to say.
Perhaps she would
not have it so
in this day
and age.
Yet in any language,
by any standard
among all the human race,
she had a beautiful face
strength and grace.
If Helen,
if Cleopatra,
why not she?
I remember a
beautiful woman
alas now dead.
There.
It is said.
