BIO: A native of Flint, Michigan, Sue Midlock now lives in Joliet, Illinois.  She is an author as well as an illustrator. Her short stories have appeared in Mississippi Crow magazine and her poems in Episodes of the Norm, a collection of vignettes.

MOTIVATION: I love fantasy, especially fairies.  That was the motivation for this piece.  It is a intricate form of doodling/drawing.  The use of real leaves (dried), and gems, located on the forehead and by the leaves is my way of making the picture interesting and somewhat real in itself.
