Exceptional Flash, Poetry, Art and Photography!

Patricia A. Wentling

Empty of life,
no man, child or wife
live inside these walls.

The smell of sorrow
reeks with each tomorrow
while windows grow small.

Once it was full of laughter
and happily every after
with children full of happiness.

But situations turned abstract
when adults got off track
of not showing love or tenderness.

Heads transferred the blame
like a soccer ball in a game
being kicked inside a net.

Hate clouded their minds
while their children sometimes
wished their parents never met.

This house silently cries,
on windy days, why--
as good times are no more.

Painted white but turning gray,
this house ages everyday,
behind empty locked doors.

Motivation: Struggling economy, causing people to lose their homes.

Bio: I've been writing for eight years. I have poetry in online and print literary magazines. I'm a member of Florida State Poets Assoc.
